20 Displaced By Laundry Room Fire At Airport Hotel

There were no sprinklers inside the Spokane House Hotel in west Spokane when the laundry room caught fire Tuesday morning.

The fire was called in at 5:40 a.m. in the 4300 block of West Sunset at the America's Best Value Inn Spokane House Hotel.

When firefighters arrived they found smoke and flames in the laundry room and quickly evacuated the building. They found the fire had burned a couple of mattresses and spread to an electrical panel. It took 34 firefighters about 20 minutes to extinguish the fire.

The Eyelash Extension Buzz

The Eyelash Extension Buzz

As a woman with relatively wimpy eyelashes, I had to get in on a new trend sweeping Spokane... eye lash extensions. Women I know who wear them, swear by them. They make your lashes longer, thicker and eliminate the need for mascara. No mascara? Thicker, longer lashes? I had to try it.

You wouldn't notice Eileen Frances' Beautiful Lashes storefront from the street. I didn't. I drove right by it.

The City of Spokane is seeking applicants for the Citizen's Transportation Advisory Board (CTAB) to help determine priorities for the Transportation Benefit District (TBD). The district is an independent taxing district created in October 2010 to help the City better maintain its street system and pedestrian infrastructure. The Spokane City Council serves as the TBD governing board separately from their Council duties.

We've heard the question several times over the last few months: What's in the water at KXLY? I can't blame people for asking, as it seems everywhere you turn here, you find another pregnant woman!
